Damodar Kunda (Lake) situated in Mustang District of Nepal, a basin in the Damodar Himal (6706m) and flows southward through a rain shadow valley on the eastern edge of the Annapurna Range. The elevation of the Damodar Kunda is just 4890 meters; it is cold and windy place.
Damodar Kunda trekking offers superb panoramic views whole Annapurna range, lush valleys, beautiful landscape, Tibetan monasteries. The trail forks north from Annapurna trekking route. The walk to the Damodar Kund Lake is easy but quite tedious because of the long distance that needs to be covered. The trek takes you to remotest corner of Nepal near Tibet. The Lake offers magnificent views of Annapurna, Mustang Himal (6234m), Muktinath Himal (6,706m), Bhrikuti Peak (6,364m), Chuungian Chanma Himal (6165m) and Arniko Chuli (6034m). You will also visit Lomanthang, the medieval capital of Mustang kingdom, Buddhist monasteries and chortens, caves, cliffs etc.
Itinerary
Day1: Arrival Day
Arrival Kathmandu Pick up from Airport transfers to Hotel, Evening Visit to Pashupati
Nath Temple for have worship (puja), darshan at arati time, back to Hotel, overnight.
Day 2: Kathmandu-Pokhara
Drive to Pokhara ,arrival at Pokhara and transfer to hotel, Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Pokhara – Jomsom
Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom, Trek starts from Jomsom (2750m.) Overnight at Kagbeni, transfer to hotel and rest.
Day 04: Kagbeni(2800m) to Chaile (300m)
Trek start from Kagbeni. Overnight at Chaile.
Day 05 : Chaile to Ghami
Trek start from Chaile & night stop at Ghami.
Day 06: Ghami to Yara(4000m)
Trek start from Ghami overnight at Yara.
Day 07: Yara
Rest at Yara.
Day 08: Yara to Thanti
Trek start on horse from Yara to Thanti (rest house)- near Damodar Kunda overnight.
Day 09: Thanti to Damodar Kunda(5400m)
Trek from Thanti to Damodar Kunda. After Darshan/ worship and Over night at Damodhar Kunda.
Day 10: Damodhar Kund to Yara
Trek from Damodhar Kund to Yara (Pony trek would be from Yara to Yara).
Day 11 : Yara to Charang
Treks from Yara to Charang. (3620m.)
Day 12: Charang to Syangmoche
Treks from Charang to Syangmoche. (3770m.)
Day 13: Syangmoche to Chuksang
Treks from Syangmoche to Chuksang.
Day 14: Chuksang to Muktinath
Trek from Chuksang to Muktinath.
Day 15: Muktinath to Jomsom
Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom.
Day 16: Jomsom to Pokhara
Fly back Jomsom to Pokhara.
Day 17: Kathmandu arrival
Drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 18 : Departure Day
After breakfast transfer to Airport.
