Hiking in Phulchowki is one of the great experience with full of fun and excitement. Phulchowki means “the hills of flowers” which is just 14 km Southeast from the Kathmandu central. This hill is often regarded as the name of the famous Hindu god and goddess so many people make their pilgrimage tour as well. The hill is absolute heaven for all kind of natural beauty with lots of vegetation and species of birds. Regarding the Hill, it is fully surrounded by dense forest of Rhododendron of different colors and these dense forest is home for different species of birds and butterflies.
Hiking in Phulchowki is way to awesome experience from the starting of journey to the hill top. At the hill top a shrine of Phulchoki Mai is surrounded by prayer flags and if you hike this route on the month of March/April annual month long festival can be observed. The major highlights that will draw your attention from the hill top is eye-catching view of eastern part of Annapurna to Gaurishankar. The breath taking view of Kathmandu valley is another major highlight of this trip. And it is only place so near to Kathmandu where snowfall can be experience in winter.
