      It is the perfect peak for people who are not expert climbers but still want to enjoy mountain climbing. It is nonetheless a fantastic option for climbers. This trip is the kind of adventure that has a bit of everything. It is a mountain in the Manalangur section, Barun sub-section of the himalaya.

      Itinerary

      DAY 1: KATHMANDU (1350M) - ARRIVAL DAY

      1. Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital and cultural hub of Nepal! We’ll be waiting with a warm greeting and easy transfer to your hotel.
      2. Take a rest after the long flight and explore Thamel the hub of Kathmandu.

       

      DAY 2: KATHMANDU (1350M) - PREPARATION

      1. Today our team will meet with you in the early afternoon to review the gear you have brought and to take you to the gear rental shop.
      2. We will make sure you have quality climbing boots that fit well before you head off to the mountain.
      3. Plan on an evening briefing on last-minute specifics about your trek and an early lights-out: you have a big day ahead.

       

      DAY 3: LUKLA (2800M) - REST DAY

      1. We take morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla(2800m) and spend the rest of the day in Lukla for acclimatization. Lodge accommodation.Please Read: Lukla Flights are departing and returning to Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu due to ongoing upgrades at Kathmandu Airport. Its about a 4 hour drive to Ramechhap from Kathmandu so we will get started for the airport around 2 am. The return drive at the end of the trek is between 4 and 6 hours depending on traffic.

      DAY 4: CHUTANGA (3450M) - 4 HOUR TREK

      1. A leisurely trek from Lukla to Chutanga through pine and rhododendron forests.

      DAY 5: CROSS ZATRWA LA (4600M) TO KHARTITANG AT (3900M) - 6 TO 8 HOURS TREK

      1. This is a challenging day as you hike up nearly 1200m (4000 feet) to cross over the Zatrwa La Pass and then descend to Khartitang at 3900m.

      DAY 6: KOTHE (4095M) - 5 HOURS TREK

      1. Trek from Tuli Kharka up the beautiful Hinku Valley to Kothe or Gotay (4095m) this takes about five hours.

      DAY 7: TANGNANG (4350M) - 4 HOURS

      1. We continue up the Hinku Valley as the forest gives way and the vegetation becomes more sparse. We will enjoy fantastic view of south face of Mera Peak throughout the day.

      DAY 8: TANGNANG (4350M) - REST DAY

      1. Rest and acclimatization day at Thangnak. We will take a day hike for acclimatization to Sabal Tsho Lake and hike to the cairn (5271m) on the flank of Kusum Kangguru (6367m).

      DAY 9: KHARE (5,045M) - 3 HOURS TREK

      1. Trek from Tangnang to Khare where you will have excellent views of Kyashar, Mera and Kusum Kangru.

      DAY 10: MERA BASE CAMP (5300M) - 5 HOURS TREK

      1. Trek and climb from Khare to Mera Base Camp. Your guide will give you some training on the basic use of crampons, rope and ice axe. 

      DAY 11: HIGH CAMP (5780M) - 5 HOURS TREK

      1. Trek and climb from Mera Base Camp to High camp. High camp lies on rock ledge perched just above the glacier with fantastic views of the surrounding summits.

      DAY 12: MERA SUMMIT (6476M) AND DESCEND TO KHARE (5045M) - 12 TO 15 HOURS TREK

      1. We start around 1am so as to reach the summit by sunrise and descend all the way to Khare by afternoon.
      2. The quick decent means a long day of trekking but fewer problems with acclimatization.

       

      DAY 13: KOTHE (3600M) - 5 HOURS TREK

      1. We retrace our route down the Hinku Valley to Kothe.

      DAY 14: THULI KHARKA - 6 HOURS TREK

      1. Continue hiking down the Hinku Valley to Thuli Kharka.

      DAY 15: LUKLA - 8 HOURS TREK

      1. This is the last big day as we climb over Zatrwa La (4600m) once again on the way back to Lukla. This is last evening in the mountains.

      DAY 16: KATHMANDU (1350M)

      1. In the morning, you’ll hop a brief flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (See Note), where your journey both began and ends.
      2. You’ll transfer to your hotel upon landing for some much-needed solo rest and reflection after your trek conquering the Himalayas.
      3. We’ll reunite in the evening for a farewell dinner at one of the best Nepalese restaurants in town, where we’ll be eager to hear your feedback on the trip.Please Read: Lukla Flights are departing and returning to Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu due to ongoing upgrades at Kathmandu Airport. Its about a 4 to 6 hour drive from Ramechhap back to Kathmandu depending on traffic.

      DAY 17: DEPART KATHMANDU (1350M)

      1. Transfer to the airport for final departure or alternatively join other activities.

      Included in Tour

      • Airport pickups and drops in a private vehicle.
      • 3-star hotel accommodation in Kathmandu with breakfast.
      • Teahouse accommodation during the trek.
      • All meals( breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trek.
      • All ground transportation on a comfortable private vehicle as per the itinerary.

      • An experienced, English-speaking and government-licensed trek leader and assistant trek leader ( 4 trekkers: 1 assistant guide)

      • Staff costs including their salary, insurance, equipment, domestic airfare, food and accommodation.
      • Down jacket and sleeping bag( to be returned after trip completion)
      • All necessary paperwork and trekking permits (National Park Permit, TIMS)
