Itinerary
Day 1Drive from Kathmandu to Godavari (approx. 45 mins, 15 KM). Whole day birding tour at Godavari
- After breakfast, board on a bus at pick up station and drive towards Godavari
- Upon arrival, start the tour with entrance to Royal Botanical Garden where more than 100 species of birds are recorded.
- Birds to watch: Besra, Black Eagle, Mountain Hawk, Common Hill Partridge, Ashy Wood Pigeon, Wedge-tailed Green Pigeon, Kalij Pheasant, Golden-throat Barbet, Crimson-Breasted Pied, Grey-chinned Minivet, Rofous-bellied Pied Woodpeckers, Collared Owlet, Speckled Piculet, Mountain Scops Owl and other 50 species of migratory birds.
- After Birding tour board on a bus and transfer to hotel for Overnight stay at Godavari
Day 2Drive from Godavari to Budanilakantha (approx. 1hr 30 min drive, 23.3KM). Whole day birding tour at Shivapuri National Park
- After breakfast in the hotel, checkout and board on the bus for drive towards Budanilakantha
- Upon arrival at Budanilakantha, visit to the Lord Bishnu Temple and then proceed for a short hike up to Shivapuri National Park.
- Birds to watch: Over 318 species of birds are recorded among them Blue Magpies, Kalij Pheasant, Bonelli’s eagle, Great Himalayan Barbets,Eurasian eagle-owl, slender-billed scimitar-babbler, white-gorgeted flycatcher, barred cuckoo-dove, golden-throated barbet, Slaty-headed Parakeet, Rusty-Cheeked Scimitar Babbler, Green Shrike-babblers, Small Niltava, Black-backed Forktails and Spiny Babbler, the endangered species, only found in Nepal
- After a whole day birding tour, you will be drop off on a bus at the station.
