      The Three Passes Trek is the ultimate Everest experience. This route takes in all the highlights—both in terms of mountain views and local Sherpa culture—and combines them into a complete journey through the Everest region. This trek is one of the most challenging teahouse treks in Nepal.

      Itinerary

      DAY 1 - KATHMANDU: ARRIVAL DAYAltitude: 1,350m/4,428ft

      1. Welcoming you, we send our company representative to receive you at TIA, who’ll guard you to a booked hotel in KTM.

      DAY 2 - KATHMANDU TO LUKLA FLIGHT AND PHAKDINGAltitude: 2,800m/9184ft (Lukla) & 2,652m/8,698ft (Phakding)

      1.  Flight to Lukla, then Introduction to your guide and porter.
      2. Relax yourself with an easy walk around Chaurikharka village and descent towards Dudhkoshi Ghat.
      3. Trail follows the bank of the Dudhkoshi River until Phakding where we ‘ll be staying overnight.

      DAY 3 - PHAKDING TO NAMCHE BAZAARAltitude: 3,440m/11,283ft

      1. Breakfast in Phakding before the trek to Namche Bazar.
      2. Reach to the Dhudkoshi River via a long suspension bridge about 2 hrs away.
      3. Sooner, we’ll reach the entrance to Sagarmatha National park and then descend to Dhudkoshi River where lunch will be served.
      4. A tough climb up the hill to our resting place, but you’ll be rewarded in Namche Bazar with your first look of Everest in its majesty.

      DAY 4 - NAMCHE BAZAAR: REST AND ACCLIMATIZATION DAYAltitude: 3,440m/11,283ft

      1. At this point, we will be spent resting allowing our bodies to become relax to the lofty altitude.
      2. There’s an optional 2hr hike to Everest view point which will help to speed relaxation.
      3. On Saturdays, the Hatt Bazar(which is the part of the larger Namche Bazar) is open for trading and an intimate look at the locals marketplace.

      DAY 5 - NAMCHE BAZAAR TO TENGBOCHEAltitude: Tengboche 3870m/12684ft

      1. Breakfast will be served in Namche Bazar.
      2. Some breathtaking views of the himalayas –Everest,Nuptsu,Kwangde,Lhotse,Ama Dablam and Thamserku.
      3. Our destination,Tengboche(one of the most beautiful places in the Everest region) include the view of Ama Dablam.
      4. We’ll stop in on the Tengboche monastery where you can nourish your spirit with a guided tour of its grounds.

      DAY 6 - TENGBOCHE TO DINGBOCHEAltitude: Dingboche 4400m/14435ft

      1. Today’s trek will be through the rhododendron forest to Deboche followed by a bridge over the raging Imja Khol River.
      2. We’ll pass the valley wall and then cross the plains to Pangboche village.
      3. Enjoy a great oppurtunity to observe a typical Sherpa village and have lunch with locals!
      4. Our afternoon trek will be a difficult one, as the landscape gives way to dry,deserted mountains and we hike towards Dingboche.

      DAY 7 - DINGBOCHE: REST AND ACLIMITAZATION DAYAltitude: 4,400m/14,435ft

      1. Chance to rest up before the last leg of our adventure!
      2. Savor a full day of exploring Dingboche and the surrounding valleys of Chhukung and Imja,(end of which links with Island Peak ),the high passes of Amphu Laptse,and Makalu Barun National Park.
      3. Taking a easy optional trek will pay off in rewarding views .
      4. You ‘ll need your rest for the the second last of ascent tomorrow.

      DAY 8 - DINGBOCHE TO CHHUKUNGAltitude: Chhukung 4730m/15518ft

      1. Let’s trek up the valley to the small village of Chukhung which lies near the base of Island peak.
      2. After lunch you can do short day hike from your tea house.

      DAY 9 - CHHUKUNG TO KONGMA LA - LOBUCHEAltitude: Kongma La 5535m/18159ft

      1. First real challenge is the Kongma La Pass which is a steep climb up to the top bottom of Chhukung.
      2. After reaching there, you’ll have fantastic views of Cholatse, Pokalde, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu and Ama Dablam.
      3. Then,  you will cross the Khumbu Glacier before you reach Lobuche where you will spend the night.

       

       

       

      DAY 10 - LOBUCHE TO EBC - GORAKSHEPAltitude: Gorakshep 5160m/16994ft, EBC 5364m/17598ft

      1. Kind of easy trek from Lobuche to Gorkeshep.
      2. Straight trail to Everest Base Camp is harder,involving rocky dunes and moraine, formed accumulation of unconsolidated glacial debris.
      3. At the Base Camp, our goal, you’ll have the chance to meet climbers attempting to scale the mountain’s summit and where u can click unbelieveable views of breathtaking beauty.
      4. After a grueling and busy day,we’ll head back to Gorekshep for some much-needed rest and relaxation.

      DAY 11 - GORAKSHEP TO KALAPATHAR - DZONGLAAltitude: Kalapathar 5545m/18192ft, Dzonga 4840m/15879ft

      1. Today, we’ll wake before dawn to trek towards Kalapathar (which is “black rock”) for a fiery, glorious sunrise over Mt.Everest.
      2. Day’s first light will illimunate your spectacular view of Nuptsu Nup, Changtse and Lhotse where ur most opportune moment to snap amazing pictures of Everest and other peaks.
      3. Then, it’s back to Gorkeshep for breakfast and onwards to Dzongla.

      DAY 12 - DZONGLA TO CHO LA – THAKNAKAltitude: Cho La 5364m/17598ft, Thaknak 4358m/14298ft

      1. The most challenging day of the trek as u go over the pass because of the weather.
      2. Having already visited Everest Base Camp can be helpful for trekking at the high altitude and feeling stronger.
      3. Crampons r not normally used but microspikes can helpful if the weather is at all bad but its tough climb to the top but amazing views can be seen.

      DAY 13 - THAKNAK TO GOKYOAltitude: Gokyo 4750m/15584ft

      1. Continue down into the Gokyo valley and cross the Ngozumpa glacier the longer glacier in this part if the Himalayas and an impressive sight.
      2. We should reach gokyo by lunch then you should have time to walk up to one of the lakes in the valley where u can see great views of the peaks.

       

      DAY 14 - GOKYO TO GOKYO RIAltitude: Gokyo Ri is 5357 m/17,570 ft

      1. Today is a rest day but you can take a day hike and climb Gokyo Ri which offer the best view of Mt. Everest.
      2. Small village of Gokyo lies on the shore of Dudh Phokari and views of the lake with a backdrop of mount Pharilapche (6017 m / 19741 ft) rising above it have almost become iconic.
      3. Gokyo is famous for its six lakes and the day affords the chance to visit these as well.

      DAY 15 - GOKYO TO RENJO LA - LUNGDENAltitude: Reanjo La 5360m/17580ft, Lungden 4375m/14354ft

      1. Another challenging day as you go over Renjo La the last of the Three Passes and descend to Lungden in the Thame Valley.
      2. Renjo La is the pass connecting the Thame and Gokyo Valleys.
      3. Tough days hiking but the views of Cho Oyu (8,201m), Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516 m) and Everest (8,850m) are well worth it.

      DAY 16: LUNGDEN TO THAMEAltitude: Thame 3800m/12467ft

      1. Thame Valley does not see a lot of trekkers so it’s a good escape and the small villages are more traditional.
      2. Climbing Sherpas have made their home in the traditional village of Thame.
      3. Fairly easy walk that is mostly downhill today.

       

      DAY 17 - THAME TO NAMCHE BAZAARAltitude: Namche Bazaar 3440m/11286ft

      1. We’ll pass through a check post today before arriving at the world’s loftiest hydroelectric power station.
      2. We’ll pass gompas, prayer flags, mani walls, and chortens en route to Namche Bazaar, where we’ll again stop for an overnight rest.

      DAY 18 - NAMCHE TO PHAKDING AND LUKLAAltitude: 2,800m/9,184ft

      1. After breakfast, we trek towards the Hillary Suspension Bridge and then pass through several local villages.
      2. Our arrival in Lukla brings an evening in our last Tea House and traditionally, a party ‘ll ne done for achieving your destination with the trekking crew.
      3. Last night on the mountain, which can be bittersweet.

      DAY 19 - LUKLA TO KATHMANDUAltitude: 1350m/4428ft

      1. In the morning, you’ll hope a brief flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, where your journey began and end.
      2. Transfer to your hotel upon landing for some much-needed solo rest and reflection after trek conquering the Himalays.
      3. Reunite in the evening for a farewell dinner at one of the best Nepalese restaurants in town.

       

       

      DAY 20 - KATHMANDU: DEPARTURE DAYAltitude: 1,350m/4,428ft

      1. Last day in Nepal! Grab some breakfast and then take in some last-minute shopping in KTM.
      2. Make sure you’ll arrive at Kathmandu International Airport with plenty of time.
      3. At last we’ll say goodbyes and bid u farewell with gorgeous photos to show your love ones.
